Greenhouse effect

It is true that there are natural processes that affect the climate, such as solar activity, volcanic activities, variations in magnetosphere, biological processes such as photosynthesis, even phenomena from outer space such as asteroids or cosmic radiation.

But in this case it is human activity that is causing the rise in temperature. Not coincidentally, the rise in temperature coincides with the industrial revolution, at which point we began burning fossil fuels on a large scale to keep pace with civilization's growth.

Since then we have released tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas that, together with methane, nitrogen oxide, aerosols (Chlorofluorocarbons) and water vapor, constitutes a cause and effect relationship that is causing the increase in temperature.

The carbon dioxide generated by the burning of fossil fuels such as coal or oil, the methane obtained from natural sources also generated in agriculture and in the raising of farm animals, the nitrous oxide extended in the use of fertilizers and in the The burning of fossil fuels and aerosols for industrial use are the greenhouse gases that have been produced on a large scale since the industrial revolution.

Aerosols have already been regulated after realizing that their excessive use was destroying the ozone layer and since then Great efforts have been made to control and regulate the use of Chlorofluorocarbons (aerosols). Now we need to do the same to regulate the other greenhouse gases

The average global temperature has increased by 1.01 degrees Celsius since 1880. In the following video you can see the temperature increase based on the records.

This increase in temperature is changing the climate and we are observing the effects around the planet. In the next post we will continue talking about the effects of global warming and its consequences.
